About Me
From early in his youth, Brian has had an interest and passion for the game of golf. Introduced to the game by his Dad at a young age, he has developed a
love and respect for a game that provides many challenges, both physically and mentally. Over the years, he has discovered that many of life's greatest lessons
can be learned by playing this most humbling and difficult game.
Brian is a 2001 graduate of Saint Thomas Academy in Mendota Heights, MN. Beginning in 8th grade, Brian was a starter for the golf team. He achieved All-Conference
in multiple seasons and was also a 2-time State Tournament participant. He then went on to play two seasons at Birmingham-Southern College and was named to the 2003 NCAA All-Independent
2nd Team. In 2003, Brian transferred to Wake Forest University and earned a B.A. in Religion in 2005. While attending school there, he was a student
manager for the nationally ranked Wake Forest men's basketball team.
Brian turned professional in the Fall of 2006. From September 2006 to September 2007 he competed against some of the best players in the country on various professional mini tours,
including the Tar Heel Tour and Hooters Tour. However, in 2008 Brian shifted his focus to becoming an instructor. It was during this time that he began an apprenticeship with Golf
Magazine Top 100 instructor, Rod Lidenberg. Under the tutelage of one of the finest teachers, Brian learned not only the finer points of the golf swing, but more importantly how
to effectively communicate with a student.
Brian currently instructs at The Golf Zone in Chaska, MN twelve months a year. This past Summer, Brian was the chief coordinator/instructor of the junior golf camps at The Golf Zone.
In the fall of 2010, Brian completed the USGTF (
United States Golf Teachers Federation) Level III
golf teacher certification program in Dallas.
Brian was recently appointed the new assistant varsity golf coach at Saint Thomas Academy and will be starting next Spring 2012.
